About the University

Technological University of the Shannon is a public technological university in Ireland established on 1 October 2021 through the merger of the Athlone Institute of Technology and the Limerick Institute of Technology to serve the Midlands and Midwest regions with applied, industry-focused higher education. It operates multiple campuses across counties including Limerick, Athlone, Thurles, Clonmel and Ennis, enrolling around 14,000–15,000 students in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes spanning engineering, science, business, health, arts and more, with a strong emphasis on practical learning, research collaboration and regional development.
