About the University

Deakin College is a leading Australian pathway institution closely affiliated with Deakin University, offering alternative entry routes for students who do not meet the university’s direct admission criteria. Established in 1996, Deakin College operates across three of Deakin University’s campuses—Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, and Geelong Waurn Ponds—allowing students full access to university facilities from the beginning of their studies. The college provides foundation and diploma programs in areas such as business, commerce, communication, IT, engineering, health sciences, science, design, and film, television & animation. The foundation program is designed to prepare students for first-year university studies, while the diploma programs are equivalent to the first year of a Deakin University bachelor's degree and allow students to progress directly into the second year of their chosen course upon successful completion. With intakes in March, June, and October, Deakin College offers flexibility and the opportunity to fast-track studies. The college is known for its supportive learning environment, small class sizes, and personalized academic assistance. Over 22,000 students have successfully transitioned from Deakin College to Deakin University, making it a trusted and effective pathway for both domestic and international students.
