Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU), located in Maryville, Missouri, is a public university founded in 1905. Originally established as a teacher-training school, it has grown into a comprehensive institution offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and online programs through its College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education & Human Services, and Booth College of Business & Professional Studies. The 370-acre rural campus is designated as the official Missouri State Arboretum, home to more than 111 species of trees and modeled after the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair’s Forest Park. With an enrollment of about 9,000 students, including 5,600 undergraduates, NWMSU boasts a student-to-faculty ratio of 19:1 and a 95% placement rate for graduates in employment or further studies. The university is also known for its strong athletics program, with the Bearcats winning multiple NCAA Division II championships in football and men’s basketball. A pioneer in educational technology, NWMSU launched the first Electronic Campus in 1987 and continues to provide laptops to all full-time students. The vibrant campus life includes over 150 student organizations, Greek life, and a strong sense of community, making NWMSU a respected choice for higher education in the Midwest.
